Grease Lubrication: Dry grease lubrication is used to replace a high/low-pressure thin-oil lubrication station, reducing initial investment.

Easy Maintenance and Servicing: For grate discharge ball mills with diameters ≥ φ2700 mm, the following components can be equipped: a high-voltage motor, a pneumatic clutch, a large girth gear with grease spray lubrication, and a slow-drive device/inching drive for maintenance.

Multiple Models Available: Grate discharge ball mill is featured with grate plate at the discharge end; higher ball charge, greater installed power, high throughput; produces coarser discharge, typically used for primary grinding; overflow ball mill has no grate plate design, it has higher discharge level; Lower ball charge and installed power; produces finer discharge, it is suitable for secondary grinding.

Long Service Life of Bearings: Grate discharge ball mill is manufactured with high-strength bearings, the hollow shaft at the bearing section is reinforced with a larger diameter, increasing the radial distance between the rolling bearing and the feed/discharge screw. This improves heat dissipation, extends bearing life, and enhances capacity.

Working Principle of Grate Discharge Ball Mill

Grate Discharge Ball Mill For Sale

The grate discharge ball mill is a horizontal cylindrical rotating equipment driven by an outer gear (girth gear). It is a 2-chamber grate-discharge mill.

  1. Feeding: Material enters through the feed assembly and feed trunnion via a feed screw.
  2. First Chamber (Coarse Grinding): Equipped with Ladder liner or wave liner and different sizes of steel balls, the ball rotation produces centrifugal force, lifting steel balls and causing impact and grinding.
  3. Intermediate Diaphragm: After coarse grinding, material passes through the single-layer diaphragm into the second chamber.
  4. Second Chamber (Fine Grinding): Fitted with flat liners; further grinding occurs until the material reaches required fineness.
  5. Discharging: Powder exits through the grate plate (discharge grate) to complete grinding.
