Various U-shape Tanks for Lime Slaker Equipment Manufacture
What is U Shape Agitation Tank Lime Slaker
U-shape agitation tank lime slaker is equipment for continuous production of hydrated lime powder, normally it is integrated into a multi-stage lime slaking system in the hydrated lime plant. Unlike the verticle slaking tank (batch slaker), which can only produce hydrated lime milk, the U-shape agitation tank lime slaker stirs and delivers lime in the horizontal direction with the stirring blade, and produces hydrated lime powder or milk by water volume control.Lime Slaker Models with U Shape Agitation Tank Design
Classified by its axis number, AGICO supplies U-shape agitation tank lime slaker in 2 types: 1-axis and 2-axis lime slaker. They can be used as a single working section for different slaking stages, 2-5 lime slakers can be connected in series and combined form to achieve the required production capacity and hydration effect, which is called lime slaker system. The common lime slaker systems are developed into 2 stages, 3 stages and 5 stages.

U-shape Agitation Tank Lime Slaker Structure
U-shape agitation tank lime slakers can be manufactured in different designs with common parts, it is composed of a power device, a mixing tank body, a mixing shaft, wear-resistant mixing blades, a water spraying device, a dust removal device, etc.
How Does U-shape Lime Slaker Work:
The U-shaped lime slaker is a machine to turn quicklime into slaked lime. The working principle is different from batch slaker according to its U-shaped Tank and the stirring direction, here are details in a few key steps.
- Water Spray: Spraying a controlled amount of water initiates quicklime in a stirring tank. This initiates the slaking reaction where quicklime reacts with water to form slaked lime.
- Full Stirring: This is the stage where the specially designed stirring blades rotate fully within the tank, stirring the quicklime with the water. This process guarantees the homogeneous exposure of quicklime to water and promotes equal and thorough slaking.
- Progressive Dissolution and Hydration: As stirring continues, quicklime is progressively dissolved and reacts on with water to be transformed into slaked lime. This is a process that includes more heat release and improves the reaction.
- Homogenization and Forward movement: The agitation blades serve 2 purposes. First, they blend the slake with water, and they push the slaked lime products to the other side of the tank so that the whole quicklime reacts together.
Reaction Time Management: Provision is made for damping and limit plates in the tank for additional flow control. It ensures enough hydration time for the quicklime to get slaked fully in the U-shaped tank.
Single-Axis U-shape Lime Slaker from AGICO
The single-axis U-shape Lime Slaker consists of 4 parts: quicklime feeding, stirring blade, water spraying, and vibration system, and is equipped with a special electronic control system for automatic production. The water supply system is controlled by a valve group, with a filter set in the pipeline to stabilize water quality, and the electronic control cabinet interlocks control the various parts of the U-shaped Lime Slaker.
Stable Design for U-shaped Lime Slaker Install
The single-axis U-shaped Lime Slaker is fixed on the base as a whole working unit. 4 groups of elastic elements support the U-shaped tank chamber. The U-shaped tank chamber vibrates at high frequency during the operation, so that a certain gap is always maintained between the tank wall and the stirring shaft, this design can reduce the running resistance of lime inside, and avoid stuffiness and blocking during production, the downtime and cleaning time are reduced, and the work efficiency is improved.
2-Axis U-Shape Tank Lime Slaker From AGICO
The 2-axis U-shape tank lime slaker uses 2 sets of spiral blades for stirring. Compared with the single-axis type lime slaker, it has the advantages of higher slaking efficiency and small floor space. The stirring blades made of highly wear-resistant alloy steel can serve a long service life. The 2-axis lime slaker is driven by a cycloidal pinwheel reducer, which ensures smooth rotation and low noise.
The 2-axis lime slaker is manufactured with a reasonable structure, quick lime feeds from the U-tank top and discharges from the bottom. The sealing between the joint surfaces of the lime slaker U-tank is tight to ensure smooth operation. It is also equipped with a water spray system to ensure precise control of water supply for lime hydration reaction.
U-shaped Tank Lime Slaker Manufacture
- U-shaped Shell of Tank: It is fabricated by welding steel plates, which assemble with other parts. It encases the double-axis stirring blades to provide an ash-free production environment.
- Assembly of Spiral Shaft: The double-axis blade mixer is an assemblage of important parts, which include left and right-rotating spiral shafts, bearings, gears, sprockets, and blades.
- Water supply system: It consists of pipes, joints, and nozzles. These stainless steel nozzles are used to create a water curtain inside the tank. A water film helps moisten and mix all the quicklime. The nozzles are designed in such a way that they are hardy, non-corrosive, and replaceable. Operators can adjust moisture content by use of a manual valve on the water supply pipe.
- Cover Plate: The cover plates are designed into the form of left, middle and right, including hole covers and inspection covers. There are 6 inspection holes on each side, which will lead to easy check and maintenance of lime-slaking equipment.
